We are on a 10,000-mile round trip to Alaska and back to Arizona. On the route north we took a few side trips to Sequoia National Park, Redwood National Park and Yosemite. (Watch for more pictures later - here are just a few teasers!)

Our timing meant that we would arrive at Yosemite on Saturday. We wanted to get an early start to beat the MASSIVE traffic, so we wanted to camp just outside the park on Friday night. This was the ONLY night we made a reservation - at High Sierra RV park. We chose this park because it is right at the edge of Yosemite and it offered lower cost tent campsites.
Driving into Yosemite National Park
Tent campsites are typically too small for RV's or camper trailers. Tent campsites often have no services; often just a picnic table. But at this RV park the tent sites included a water faucet and electricity. A minivan fits easily in a tent campsite - after all, people camping in tents still need a place to park! But tent campsites usually cost less than HALF of conventional RV sites.
